An invite that expires or is never opened doesn't come back — but revoking one before that happens does, up to a small cap we set to prevent misuse. Purchases themselves are non-refundable, except where you were charged more than once for the same purchase, or we are unable to provide the service you paid for.

Leaving the assessment tab — switching to another tab or app, or minimising the window. The candidate gets one warning and 10 seconds to come back. Leaving a second time, or staying away longer than that, ends the test and submits their answers so far.

Every flag is listed on the report; the label just tells you where to look first. Clear: no flags. Check: only notes that did not break the assessment, such as a blocked paste, one tab switch with a return in time, or a paused microphone. Review: something touched the evidence or ended the test by rule: screen sharing rejected or stopped, more than one monitor, a clip where speech was heard, or an assessment that ended early. The label never changes the score and never sorts candidates.

Nothing stops a determined person, so CodeOath flags and you decide. Pasting into the code editor is blocked. Leaving the assessment tab gives one warning and 10 seconds to come back; leaving again ends the test. Camera and screen snapshots are taken about every 30 seconds, and a short audio clip is saved only when sustained speech is heard. Flags are shown separately from the score.

You set the time limit for each assessment. Candidates should allow that time plus about 10 minutes of setup for the camera, screen and microphone checks.

Yes. Candidates are told to contact the hiring company before they begin. Under our Terms, the company decides and offers a reasonable alternative outside the assessment to anyone who objects to being proctored or needs an accommodation, for example because of a disability or assistive technology.

Answers, scores and the camera, screen and audio evidence are deleted automatically 180 days after the assessment is completed (an invite that was never completed: 180 days after it expired). Images and audio sit in a private storage bucket, visible only to the inviting company's team. You can also ask us to delete a company's candidate data sooner.

No. Every pack is a one-time, prepaid purchase — nothing renews automatically. Prices are exclusive of GST. We are not currently registered for GST.
